The “security philosophy” of new-generation banknotes
The security of new banknotes was created according to the special “security philosophy” 4 steps (I, II, III and IV grade).
Each nominal has its main background color, the same security elements placed on all nominal at the same places.
I grade security elements intended for population and the same for all banknotes and placed at the same places. Here indicated only nominal of the banknote and MANAT, and define with no use special equipment. II grade security elements define by means of simple tools (magnifying glass and UV lamp). III grade security elements produced according high technologies, and with purpose to distinguish real banknotes from fake intended to be defined by bank experts and special equipment.
IV grade security elements determine only by Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic.
Security elements placed on the front size of the banknotes:
Protuberant print: secret digit of nominal, relief nominal, microprint, separated on parts colors, changing colors secret element
Offset and other technical methods: visible element on the light, special exact lines, micro and macro print, special lines structure interfering xerox.
Wonder digit – in the left bottom corner correspond to the main background changing colors nominal digit.
Hologram: on the banknotes of 10, 20, 50 and 100 nominal face value in correspond to main subject of the design individual holograms.
Watermark (visible on the light nominal and design): individual watermarks (the main subject of the each nominal’s design and nominal).
Elements visible on the Ultra-violet (UV) light: some elements of the design are visible on the UV light.
Special varnish: against pollution, liquid, and some kind of acids.

Magic lines: correspond to the main color of nominal changing stripes.
Metal security thread: metal security thread showing nominal.
Numeration: peculiar horizontal and vertical eight digit numeration with one letter.
Visible on the UV light elements: some elements of design are visible on the UV light.
Special varnish: against pollution, liquid and some kind of acids.
There are placed in correspond with common “security philosophy” serial numbers, determines by the mean of special equipment, and security elements (II and III grade) determine in the ultra-violet and infrared spectrum on the back side of the banknote.
