15 March 2019 Baku: The Central Bank always attaches great importance to following challenges in information – communication technologies on a global arena and delivering innovative solutions to banking. Moreover, creation of state-of-art IT structure in line with international trends and expansion of e-services in the financial – banking sector necessitates maintaining information security, protection of information resources in use from possible threats, boosting overall cybersecurity readiness and regular awareness efforts during data sharing.
Inviting cybersecurity experts with the support of the Azerbaijani office of Microsoft as part of these efforts the Central Bank held an event titled ‘Cybersecurity and essence of intrusion testing’ participated by related staff from the Ministry of Communication and High Technologies, the Financial Markets Supervisory Authority, the Azerbaijan Banks Association and commercial banks at the headquarters.
The organizers delivered presentations titled ‘Information security trends’, ‘Why cybersecurity’, ‘Hacker threats’, ‘Intrusion testing recommendations’ followed by associated recommendations to boost cybersecurity. Participants discussed areas for introduction of innovative solutions, debating over information security threats and preventive cybersecurity measures to minimize them.
The Central Bank is planning to further relevant efforts to expand innovative financial technologies and delivery of global information security novation to the banking sector.
