The Central Bank of Azerbaijan introduced an upgraded 50 manat banknote with the latest security elements available in an international practice. The upgraded 50 manat banknote maintained the ‘Education and future’ motif within the ‘Independent Azerbaijan’ concept our currency is dedicated to.

  • Watermark – The Coat of Arms of the Republic of Azerbaijan and denomination visible at light.
  • Spark Live – Image of an inkstand that delivers dynamic light effects and color changing properties from gold to green. When tilting the note, rings in the motive seem to move.
  • Iridescent ink – Iridescent ink of blue and gold reflect the ‘50’ and the letters ‘AZN’.
  • RollingStar security thread – ‘50’ and ‘CBA’ engraved on metal view security thread. When tilting the note, dynamic light effects and color changing properties from gold to green is visible.
  • RollingStar Lead (Hologram) – A holographic foil stripe shows stairs symbolizing students, education and future and an entrance to an educational institution on a 3D background. Switch of denomination number to Manat sign is visible on the upper part of the element. By tilting the banknote a color change from gold to green gets visible.
  • Tactile printing – in specific areas of the note, a raised print can be felt by running the fingers over it.
  • Visually impaired recognition feature – Lines on the right and left of the obverse of the note can help blind and sight impaired persons to recognize the value of the note.
  • Anti-copy screen – Moiré creating line pattern.
  • Micro text – The words ‘Azərbaycan Respublikası’ and other texts visible under a magnifier.
  • Split colors – are visible within one element.
  • Blind embossing – lofty ‘AMB (CBA)’ is visible when looking at the obverse of the banknote and can be felt when touching.
  • Serial number – on the reverse side of the banknote there are two serial numbers: one horizontal and the other vertical. The serial number of each banknote is unique.
  • Intaglio print - The image of a book is visible when tilting the note.
  • Security fibers – various color security fibers are visible under UV-light.
  • Ultraviolet (UV) properties – elements on obverse and reverse sides designed to determine the authenticity of the note are visible under UV-light.
