Event dedicated to 20th anniversary of the Central Bank
The Central Bank of Azerbaijan held a jubilee event dedicated to its 20th anniversary.
The event also included the presentation of the postage stamp developed for the occasion, and awarding of winners of the contests of abstracts and articles.
The attendees saw the film ‘The Central Bank of Azerbaijan in 20 years’.
Ordinance on rewarding Central Bank employees
Employees of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan have been rewarded at Ordinance of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for their services in development of banking.
Elman Rustamov, Governor was awarded with the ‘Medal of Glory’, Alim Guliyev, First Deputy Governor with the 3rd Degree ‘Order for Service to the Motherland’ and a group of employees with the Medal of Progress.
Contest of abstracts
The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan University of Economics (UNEC) held a contest of abstracts dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Central Bank titled ‘The role and development directions of the banking system in economic growth of Azerbaijan’ on 16 – 31 January 2012.
According to the results of evaluation Aynur Aliyeva, 4th year student (UNEC, bachelor degree) took the 1st, Lala Mirzazadeh, 4th year student (UNEC, bachelor degree) – the 2nd and Samir Veliyev, 1st year student, (ADA, master degree) – the 3rd places. Winners were awarded with prizes.
Contest of articles
A contest of articles dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Central Bank titled ‘The role of the Central Bank in the country economy’ was held from 5 September to 30 December 2011.
According to the results of evaluation, F.Alizadeh took the 2nd and A.Abdulla the 3rd places.
R.Nasirov, A.Hajiyev and I.Mammadli were awarded with incentive prizes.
Commemorative coin
The Central Bank put into circulation 1000 pcs of silver commemorative coins dedicated to its 20th anniversary (weight 31.1 gr, diameter 37 mm).
Postage stamp
A postage stamp dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been put into circulation. The stamp shared a unique design with the silver commemorative coin issued for the same occasion.
