09 April 2019, Baku: The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan presented its blockchain based pilot Digital Identification System project at the Future Blockchain Summit in Dubai, UAE on 2–3 April 2019.
Joined by 170 exponents and 14000 participants from the USA, Germany, the UAE, China, Russia, England, Estonia, Malta and other countries the Future Blockchain Summit hosted exhibitions of blockchain, Internet of things, Big data, artificial intelligence and other innovative solutions followed by speeches about their real application in various ecosystems.
The attendees were informed on the goal of and benefits from the blockchain based Digital Identification System realized by the CBA as part of the ‘State Program on expansion of digital payments’ approved by the Decree of the President of 26 September 2019. The information system under way jointly with the IBM Lenovo will allow supply of distant banking services and full digitalization of customer – bank relations.
The presentation that whet summit participants’ interest inspired representatives from far and near neighboring countries to visit the Bank and cooperate on introduction of blockchain – distributed register technologies in the banking system.
