11 January 2022, Baku: The US International Association of Currency Affairs (IACA) held an international competition on ‘Excellence in currency 2022’ awards involving currency issued to circulation in 2021 by central banks of world countries, including European countries, England, Australia, Mexica, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Philippines and other countries.
As a result of the competition the 50 manat banknote renewed and issued to circulation by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan in 2021 has been selected as a finalist in ‘Excellence in currency 2022’ awards.
To note, prior to it the renewed 50 manat banknote won the ‘Best Applied Security Product’ category at the Excellence in Holography Awards 2021, which was presented by the International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA) at this year’s virtual Holography Conference organized in Great Britain.
We want to inform that the renewed 50 manat banknote that targets education and future depicts images of Stairs, key categories of education – Educational Institution, Pupil, Student, national carpet patterns and ornaments, equipped with the most progressive security as part of the national currency concept dedicated to the ‘Independent Azerbaijan’ motif.
Now the renewed 50 manat banknote is in parallel circulation with the old one.
