13 March 2023, Baku: The state policy aimed at conducting large-scale works in the direction of environmental protection and improving the environmental situation, is an important component of the long-term development strategy of our country. The creation of new forests and green zones is being carried out as an important task in this field.

As part of a series of events held on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Banks Association, the Azerbaijan Insurers Association, the Azerbaijan Microfinance Association, the Azerbaijan Stock Market Participants Association and Azerbaijan Fintech Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The parties of the Memorandum intend to undertake appropriate activities related to the planting of a total of 1,000,000 (one million) trees for a period of 10 years starting from 2023, being 100,000 (one hundred thousand) trees per year.

This cooperation will contribute to the development of a culture of voluntary behavior aimed at continuing social and ecological activities on a systematic, institutional basis, to a deeper understanding of corporate responsibility in support of environmental protection, and to the achievement of the goals set in the direction of creating a high-quality ecological environment in the country as a whole.
