30 July 2025, Baku: The first meeting of the sub-working group on macroeconomic sustainability, established to develop the Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan covering 2027-2030 years, was held at the Central Bank on July 30.
Speaking at the meeting, Governor of the Central Bank and Head of the Sub-Working Group Taleh Kazimov emphasized the importance of macroeconomic sustainability in ensuring economic growth continuity, increasing the economy's resilience to external and internal shocks, and supporting social welfare and inclusive development.
Kazimov stated that the measures implemented in the field of macroeconomic stability within the framework of the Socio-Economic Development Strategy for 2022–2026 have yielded positive results. He noted that significant achievements have been made in managing inflation within the Central Bank's target range, deepening the financial sector, increasing its share in GDP, and generally expanding access to finance.
He highlighted the importance of improving policy frameworks for macroeconomic and financial stability to strengthen the country's macroeconomic sustainability in 2027–2030.
Later, the event held discussions on the proposed areas of action within the framework of developing the Socio-Economic Development Strategy for 2027-2030.
Kazimov concluded by inviting the members of the working group to cooperate in a coordinated manner on these areas of activity.
The Macroeconomic Sustainability Sub-Working Group was established based on the Cabinet of Ministers' Decree No. 356s dated June 18, 2025, to ensure the implementation of the document on the preparation of the Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027-2030 and the 2nd State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories, approved by Presidential Decree No. 611 dated May 30, 2025.
