22 April 2026, Baku: On April 20-21, 2026, training on cybersecurity risk management was held for financial sector participants with the support of the Central Bank.
The sessions were organised in an interactive format in collaboration with the Estonian e-Governance Academy (eGA) and aimed to increase knowledge and skills relating to cybersecurity in the financial sector, as well as share international experience.
Elnur Eyvazli, Director of the Central Bank's Information and Cybersecurity Department, informed participants about cyber threats, the associated risk environment and the regulatory framework in this area. He also discussed the requirements for digital transaction resilience.
The training sessions covered modern approaches to cyber risk management and the role of institutions performing control and coordination functions, as well as opportunities for cooperation within the sector and at an international level. Participants took part in practical exercises designed to develop their risk assessment and management skills based on real situations.
Representatives of the Azerbaijan Banking Association and the financial sector participated in the training sessions.
The training was organised as part of an international initiative funded by the European Union, which aimed to increase cyber resilience in Eastern Partnership countries.
