30 June 2026, Baku: The Central Bank completed the Economic Journalism Development Support Program for students of the International Journalism major at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL).
On June 29, a closing ceremony was held at the Central Bank's administrative building. Bank employees, AUL administrators, students, and well-known media representatives participated in the ceremony.
In his opening speech, Ali Ahmadov, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, spoke about the important role of communication in modern times, emphasizing the need to properly inform the public and strengthen institutional trust. He emphasized that this program is one of the Central Bank's initiatives to increase transparency and foster open communication.
Ulkar Hasanova, Head of the Communication Division at the Central Bank's International Cooperation and Communication Department, stated that the program contributes to training professional and specialized media representatives who will serve as a bridge between complex economic processes and society.
Anar Osmanli, Advisor to the Rector of AUL, and Nargiz Gurbanli, Head of the International Journalism Department, emphasized the program's importance for students' professional development. They also expressed gratitude to the Central Bank leadership for this initiative.
Speaking as guest speakers at the event, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan State Information Agency Daghbayi Ismayilov and Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting CJSC Rafig Hashimov shared their recommendations, urging students to specialize in the field of economic journalism.
Graduates of the program shared their impressions of the training and memorable moments from it.
At the closing ceremony, certificates were presented to students who successfully completed the program, and a commemorative photo was taken.
During the training sessions held by Central Bank employees in April and May of this year, students were presented with the main topics of the central banking and financial agenda in a simple and understandable form. During sessions covering eight main areas, young journalists were given practical advice on preparing economic news.
