23 September 2026, Baku. The Central Bank held a practical session with experts from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).
The session covered the deepening of financial markets, the global macroeconomic environment, market-making practices, the EBRD’s local-currency financing opportunities, international approaches to developing local-currency bond markets and the trading of local-currency bonds. Experts shared insights and recommendations based on international experience in these areas, including practices adopted in countries with established local-currency bond markets.
Representatives of investment companies, the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE), the National Depository Centre (NDC) and banks also attended the session. Discussions focused on expanding financing opportunities, developing the bond market and strengthening market-making mechanisms.
The Central Bank will continue its efforts to support the development of the financial sector and expand its capacity.
