Central Bank of Azerbaijan and National Bank of Slovakia discussed cooperation

Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Taleh Kazimov met with a delegation led by Peter Kažimír, Governor of the National Bank of Slovakia, who is visiting Azerbaijan. During the meeting, the significant potential for cooperation in regulating capital markets and the insurance sector, modernizing supervisory frameworks, ensuring financial stability, increasing financial literacy, combating digital fraud, and improving consumer rights protection mechanisms was emphasized.

Azerbaijan Central Bank and Sudan Central Bank sign Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation

The Central Banks of Azerbaijan and Sudan signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen the legal and institutional foundations of cooperation, expand their mutual relations, and promote the exchange of advanced knowledge and experience in central banking between the organisations. The Memorandum will facilitate deeper cooperation in the areas of monetary policy, the financial sector, payment systems, financial technologies, banking supervision, and the prevention of the legalization of criminally acquired property and the financing of terrorism.

Second meeting of Turkic Central Bank Council concludes in Baku

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan hosted the second meeting of the Council of Central (National) Banks of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The Council convened later at the Central Bank’s new HQs, with participation from OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev, a delegation from the National Bank of Kazakhstan, senior officials from the central banks of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, as well as governors from Hungary and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as observers.

Bank BTB OJSC’s banking license revoked as part of reorganization; T-Credit NBCI LLC licensed as legal successor

31 July 2026, Baku: The Management Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan has revoked the banking license of Bank BTB OJSC and issued a license to its legal successor, T-Credit Non-bank Credit Institution LLC (T-Credit NBCI LLC), completing the bank's reorganization. The decision of 27 July 2026 was made under Articles 16.1.1 and 29 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Banks and the Regulation on reorganization of banks.
